Life is but a breath
November 21, 2010
Life can be snuffed out by taking ones breath away but life is a lot deeper than that. Life should not be summed up as a breath of two oxygen molecules that are bonded together that float in a see of Nitrogen and other gaseous molecules but should be of what you as a person compose it to be of.
We all accumulate material goods but we also accumulate parts of a jig-saw which join together to make a picture of life. In some cases, we pick up some parts and try to force them into place in the jig-saw which sticks out like a sore thumb only to not only you but to others also. It is when we leave that jig-saw piece in place that it begins to hurt an this piece knocks off others.
Some people however notice that the piece does not fit in correctly and remove to find the correct piece that suits in the picture of life. What can be further destructive in life is that as you complete your jig-saw of life, you can begin to complete two parts of the jig-saw before compiling the both together which can result in two focuses of life building one quicker than the other, in the hope of achieving one life that will succeed quicker then pulling the two together and keeping your life the way it was in the bigger jig-saw part created.
Rebuilding City Walls
November 20, 2010
It has been once again some time since words have appeared on this blog. It is amazing how consuming life can become when you want it to be and let the important things in life come first. I could blog about how you should spend your time on certain aspects of life over non-important items that are only important in short-term rather than long-term commitments which don’t benefit you but more so to others, which shows your willingness to give to others rather than a selfish gain…but I won’t because I feel I have blogged about that one times to many but need to remind myself of it periodically as you can easily slip into a rut.
This blog post takes the shape of correspondence between the Book of Nehemiah Chp. 2 – Chp. 7 and the song “God of this city” More specifically the verse…
For greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done
In this city
Greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done here
The reason I was stirred between these two is because of groups coming together to rebuild a city together. To me this represents how the fellowships/churches in each city need to come together to build their parts of the wall but also at the same time and communicate to ensure the wall is of same design and structure to avoid a wall that would fall down. The Father may use fellowships to build parts of walls but the enemy can still enter into the cities if not building it in correct position with others or if not at the correct time.
What is Love?
July 19, 2010
L-O-V-E: I have been asked: What is Love? The simple answer to say is that it is a 4 letter word, made up of two vowels and two constants. Another easy answer to give is that it is 1 Corinthians 13. But neither of these really sums up Love.
To try and question What is Love? leaves an opening to Why Love? How do you Love? Where does Love come from? When was Love thought of? To capture Love is to begin a chain of an unending list of questions.
From these questions there are plenty of answers covering so many levels of love. In order to be specific on Love for another person and to answer it in that context I will give my opinion.
Love is being devoted;
Love is cherishing every moment;
Love is liking the little things;
Love is being close;
Love is more than hormones;
Love is living;
Love is a flurry of the heart;
Love is bringing a smile;
Love is yearning;
Love is never wanting to say goodbye;
Love is more than a fuzzy feeling;
Love is wanting to be;
Love is not fearing the future;
Love is never ending;
Love is what I have for you;
Love is never letting go;
Love is knowing;
Love is.
And always will be.
On Starter’s Orders
July 13, 2010
We hear the starter’s gun go-off and with it the ringing in our ears as we jump unknowningly into the waters below. Life starts and so does the race, to swim, as fast, as long as possible in the aim to get there first.
We keep our head under the water in effort to get there quicker. At times we struggle to keep the pace and must come up for air and by doing so we fall behind.
We struggle with the waves, the current, the cold and the fear of not getting there. Someone shouts ahead and is not heard, not waited for, feared that they will hold them up in the race.
But where is there? We all set out together but seem to swim in circles not knowing where to go. We look out on the horizon and not a thing is seen. Someone sets the pace for us to keep but do we let one person decide or go into it together.
We need to be united together, aiming for the one thing, help each other along, when one falls back we all wait till they are ready. We all begin to swim in our own directions in life but we need to swim closely together as we all aim to get there.
What is life without questions?
July 9, 2010
What is life without questions?
We all have them
Wanting to be answered
Rarely asked
Never uttered
Questioned opinions
Disgusted looks
Hypocritical expressions
We are afraid of answering
Fear of people knowing the truth
Not wanting an arguement
Wanting to keep people happy
We all need questions
To keep us pondering
Living life to a symbol
?
There is always an answer
But are we willing to accept the answer
Even when it is the correct one
The Truth…
Living a Life
June 2, 2010
Something small that came to me last night…Nice to have somewhere to post things that slip into my head at a moments notice:
Here I Am!!!
May 10, 2010
Yes it has been sometime since I have posted but have been internetless over the last few weeks but now I have Metoer’s Broadband To Go which is working well despite using 1GB in 2 days. A quick update is that I have moved into a new apartment in Monkstown while on Placement as it is nearer to work than Ballincollig, it also gives me some independence which I have posted a good few time over the past two years.
I am living with a class mate who is also working at the same company as myself. Though I act chauffeur everyday, as I drive, it gives me some company ^_^ We have not had any fights yet, there are 4 or 5 months to go yet. Yes moving out is great but still have to do the shopping, washing and cooking but I enjoy it all though spend a bit too much money at the start to fill up on needs and get stuff I need.
I however, need to start on my Thesis ASAP!!! Just trying to get through the day of work, I am wrecked when I get home that I am in no mood to do research or write up. I hope by next week that I will get into it and put pen to paper or in my case, fingers to the keyboard.
I hope to have a good summer but the weekends so far have gone quickly with no chance to get out and about but as things settle down and get use to work etc. I want to travel the length and breath of Ireland ^_^
The Dreggs of Life
April 8, 2010
Yes, there have been a lack of posts but I have had a busy few weeks with exams, study etc. on my plate but now that they are all finished with (for now) I can return to more pressing matters such as blog posts ^_^ Over the last few weeks though I have had a few brain waves of what posts I should write about but kept forgetting to post about them. So over the next few days I will be throwing a good few posts out there that may be silly/stupid or else will have a great impact.

Milk….It is one of the drinks/foods that you never want to see empty or only enough for one person first thing in the morning when you wake up. The pain of trying to ration out the milk dreggs between 2 or 3 people is the worst. Milk will be required for the cereal or the tea/coffee, one of which you will definitely be having. I think its the worst is that you have just gotten up out of bed, groggy and not wanting to be peeved off. You open the fridge and you see the end of the milk and you cry/break down a bit inside. All you wanted was to wake up and enjoy your breakfast which now has been stripped away.
The battle for the milk when between two or three in the morning is a killer with no one getting a good breakfast in and you wish that they never woke up so you could have more and that when they wake up none will be there so that they would have to go to the shop if they are to enjoy their breakfast.
The first thing in the morning you do not want to do is go to the shop! Getting was hard enough! You don’t want to make it worse by leaving the house before you actually have to.
Not only do you want to be stuck with having dreggs of milk but you don’t want to be lacking anything in life but want to be full of, rather than empty.
When People Are Doing It Better Than You…
March 13, 2010
The thing that they are doing better is not what you might think (dirty minds!) but rather living life. This to me, is seen by people planning trips away to far-flung places, working in a different country for the summer, going to oxygen, going out every other night, getting married, having kids and everything in between
I seem to hate planning down the line but would rather prefer to know what is happening in the next month or two not what I will be doing when it comes to 2011. I do have an idea what I would like to do but it seems that whatever it might be never comes true. So whatever I would like to do this summer more than likely won’t come true but is rather a fantasy of how a summer I would like.

I however, would like to add that I will try to break out of this mould by moving out this summer from April till September in the hope of having a good summer while I work but as exams are blocking a lot of planning/talking with others opportunities, it will have to wait another week or two before decisions are finally made.
Seachtain na Gaeilge
March 11, 2010
Le sé seachtain na Gaeilge agus leath bhealach tríd leis dar críoch an 17 Márta, chinn mé a dhéanamh an post seo i nGaeilge. Le fírinne a d’fhéadfadh a bheith go ndearna mé an leibhéal ngnáthnós Gaeilge roinnt nathanna mícheart.

Cad a chiallaíonn sé dom a bheith as Gaeilge? Is ea, is é sin an cheist mbeidh mé iarracht a fhreagairt.
Bheith Éireannach dom ciallaíonn tú aird ar a lán níos mó thar lear le daoine ag insint scéalta agat maidir leis an gcaoi a n-ghaolta nó teaghlach Éireannach freisin. Cé go bhfuil sé go hiontach le scéalta anseo Níl mé suim i gcaoi a bhfuil do ghaol Gaeilge.
Bheith ciallaíonn Éireannach a chur ar bun agat le rain le dea-11 mhí den bhliain agus a bheith ullamh d’aon seans de nuair a chéim tú lasmuigh den doras.
Bheith ciallaíonn Éireannach ag caint faoi an aimsir laethúil le gearáin de nuair rains sé le i bhfad, agus nuair a thagann an ghrian amach, gearán a dhéanamh go bhfuil sé ró te agus an gá roinnt rain.
Bheith Éireannach ciallaíonn an tír ar fad beidh saoire in Éirinn ar feadh seachtaine nó dhó sa bhliain chun a fháil amach as an áit agus cuardaigh aeráid níos teo.
Bheith ciallaíonn Éireannach go bhfuil muid na daoine ach go cuí i gceart agus gur ceart i gcónaí níos mó ná tíortha eile.
Bheith ciallaíonn Éireannach go bhfuil muid na daoine ach go cuí i gceart agus gur ceart i gcónaí níos mó ná tíortha eile.
Bheith ciallaíonn Éireannach a bheith bródúil as an méid a raibh do sinsear don tír seo agus ar an gcaoi siad á éileamh é a bheith ina Poblacht.
Bain sult as do Naomh Pádraig Lá agus smaoineamh ar dom nuair a bhíonn tú ag ól pionta do glas agus staidéir mé do mo scrúduithe.
English Translation:
With it being Irish week and half way through it with it ending on the 17th March, I decided to do this post in Irish. With the fact that I did ordinary level Irish some phrases could be incorrect.
What does it mean to me being Irish? Yes, that is the question I will try to answer.
Being Irish to me means you get a lot more attention abroad with people telling you stories of how their relatives or family are Irish also. Though it is great to here stories I am not interested in how your relative is Irish.
Being Irish means you put up with rain a good 11 months of the year and to be prepared for any chance of it when you step outside the door. Being Irish means talking about the weather everyday with complaints of when it rains to much and when the sun comes out, complain that it is too hot and need some rain.
Being Irish means the whole country will leave Ireland for a week or two in the year to get away from the place and search warmer climate.
Being Irish means that we are the only people that thinks correctly and are always right over other countries.
Being Irish means being proud of what your ancestors did for this country and how they claimed it to being a republic.
Enjoy your Saint Patricks Day and think of me when you are drinking your green pints while I study for my exams.
